Anita's Angels would like to thank the "Immaculata Girls Basketball Team" for showing their support on Saturday Oct 31st at Liberty State Park's "Memory Walk". Together we raised over $1000.00 to help the research to put an end to Alzheimer's Disease.

!! MEDICARE NEWS FLASH!!

As of July 2004, Center for Medicare Services (CMS) will migrate all current Medicare beneficiary contractors’ toll free telephone numbers over to the standard 1-800-MEDICARE number. The Medicare Modernization Act requires CMS to publish a single toll free number for all Medicare questions. Beneficiaries will call 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227) for all general and claim-specific questions instead of calling the contractors (fiscal intermediaries and carriers will not be referred to as contractors), directly for help. Claim-specific questions received at 1-800-MEDICARE will be routed to the appropriate Medicare contractor’s call center for response.

This migration will require all Medicare contractors to replace their toll-free number, which is currently displayed on the Medicare Summary Notice (MSN) in the customer information box, with the 1-800-MEDICARE number. Contractors will also need to substitute their telephone numbers with 1-800 MEDICARE on all correspondence with beneficiaries. Appropriate outreach activities will be required by the contractors to inform the beneficiaries and providers of this change. For now, all telephone calls made to Healthnow (the durable medical equipment carrier for Medicare) are being routed to 1-800-MEDICARE.
